THE OFFICIAL ENGLISH DICTIONARY

The English Language has adopted a lot of words from many different countries over the centuries. These types of words are described as “loanwords”. The term ‘loan’ implies that the item that was ‘loaned’ has to be given back eventually. But what would the English Language look like if every single loanword were sent back to their country of origin? To test this theory, I used the Oxford English Dictionary as a base and erased every single loanword in the English language. Only words originating from Old English have been kept, hence making this dictionary the "Official" English dictionary.
